Innovative alliances for advancing on-site sanitation - Water utilities partnering with CBS private service providers

Join us for the 3rd webinar of our joint series on Water Utility Engagement in Sanitation. We will learn about innovative collaborations between water utilities and Container-Based sanitation (CBS) compagnies, through concrete examples from cities such as Lusaka, Kisumu and Kumasi. Discover how partnerships between public and private service providers can help filling the on-site sanitation service gaps, especially in low income areas. Hear firsthand experiences and valuable insights from Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), Mombasa Water (MAWASSCO), and Kisumu Water and Sanitation Company Limited (KIWASCO), working closely with CBS operators such as CleanTeam and Fresh Life.

SuSanA Meeting at AfricaSan7

The AfricaSan Conference is a key event addressing sanitation and hygiene challenges in Africa. Its 7th edition, themed "Strengthening Systems and Partnerships for Accelerated Sanitation and Hygiene," aims at assessing progress, sharing knowledge, and promoting innovative solutions.

SuSanA will be represented by Sareen Malik coordinator of the Africa Chapter and Chaiwe Sanderse co-coordinator and Forum moderator. Sareen and Chaiwe will be hosting a SuSanA Meeting on Wednesday 08 November from 5.30pm in Room 1 (ground floor) of the conference venue. The meeting's agenda includes an introduction to SuSanA and its Africa Chapter for the participants. Furthermore, the meeting will involve discussions on the strategic direction of the SuSanA Africa Chapter for the upcoming years and brainstorming on potential activities, driven by the motivation and interests of its members.

Many RWSN members have contributed to and shared their thoughts during the process of developing the new strategy. We would like to thank you for your inputs, and take a moment to share the first draft of the new strategy for the network for 2024-2030. We are opening a consultation phase of 4 weeks, during which all RWSN members and partners may submit their comments on the draft strategy through an online form, or by social media or by email to info@rural-water-supply.net or the Secretariat Director, Sean Furey. We look forward to your feedback on how to make RWSN work for your needs for the next 6 years.
